The LOWEN Evening Red Light helps you wind down naturally at the end of the day. It serves two gentle purposes: acting as a low-stimulation circadian light to support healthy sleep rhythms, and delivering mild red and near-infrared light for targeted relaxation and recovery.
1. SYSTEM DEFINITION
Circadian light shapes your body’s internal timing through the eyes. The LOWEN Evening Red Light provides a dedicated long-wavelength layer designed for bedrooms and evening spaces, guiding your system toward rest as part of the complete LOWEN lighting ecosystem.
2. WHY IT MATTERS
Bright or blue-rich light in the evening can interfere with melatonin production and make falling asleep more difficult. This device creates a soft, red-dominant glow that reduces visual stimulation at night, helping you transition more smoothly into rest. Its dual wavelengths also offer a pleasant secondary benefit for the body when used directly.
3. EXPOSURE PATHWAY
Specialized cells in the eyes (ipRGCs) respond strongly to blue light. Red light at 660nm has very little effect on your circadian rhythm, making it ideal for evening use. The added 850nm near-infrared reaches beyond visible light, supporting mild benefits for skin comfort and deeper muscle relaxation during short sessions.
4. LOWEN APPROACH
This unit offers three modes — pure 660nm red, 660nm + 850nm near-infrared, and pulse — with three power levels (30%, 60%, 100%) delivering 9W, 18W, or 30W of output. It features a programmable timer (10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes), an adjustable height from 15.7 to 35.4 inches, and a flexible 360° gooseneck for easy positioning. A simple remote control lets you adjust everything without getting up. The design focuses on intentional, short-duration evening use rather than constant operation.
