1. SYSTEM DEFINITION

Wireless connectivity is not neutral — it creates a continuous signal field that fills the surrounding environment. The LOWEN Router Shield is a conductive metal mesh enclosure designed to control and attenuate radiofrequency emissions at the source, while preserving essential network functionality.

2. WHY IT MATTERS

WiFi routers operate continuously, transmitting across multiple frequency bands (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and increasingly 6 GHz). Unlike intermittent devices, routers generate a persistent signal field that remains active regardless of usage.

The Router Shield introduces controlled attenuation — reducing unnecessary signal density near the source while maintaining usable connectivity across intended areas.

3. EXPOSURE PATHWAY

Radiofrequency signals propagate outward as electromagnetic waves across multiple bands:

  • 2.4 GHz — longer range, greater penetration through walls and materials
  • 5–6 GHz — higher throughput, shorter range, more directional attenuation
